In this disconcerting necropolis, with the help of mysterious Krakens, representatives of Guilds are trading NEBULIS, wonderful black pearls, that are the unofficial currency of the realm. That’s money stained with blood. They accelerate your way to power, but be careful, because those who are caught with possession face a terrible fate!

(07/01/17 first play) The black pearls, or nebulis, known in the game as dirty money associated with the new (wild) Kraken allies introduce flexibility but at the risk of counting as negative points if you can't dispose of them by the game's end. The treasure deck is a new push your luck element with rewards but only comes into play if you claim certain locations. Not an essential expansion, but one that does mix it up and add a little variety to the mix. [8x]

Some new options to fatten (or blubber?) up the aquatic intrigues of your next Abyss session. The NEBULIS corruption pearls are quite cool, as are the cards that interact with them, and I also like the Kraken creatures and how they can be used as 'wild cards' for purchasing Lords. As for the new Locations, I feel like the Loot cards and their related choices might be a little too arbitrary, even if their mechanisms are similar to others present in the Exploration phase of the game. Overall, it's a beautiful, nice addition to an already excellent game and helps freshen it up.
