Dice rolling in a game can be used for many things, randomness being the most obvious. Dice can also be used as counters. The dice themselves can be unique and different sizes, shapes and colors to represent different things.

Hand management games are games with cards in them that reward players for playing the cards in certain sequences or groups. The optimal sequence/grouping may vary, depending on board position, cards held and cards played by opponents. Managing your hand means gaining the most value out of available cards under given circumstances. Cards often have multiple uses in the game, further obfuscating an "optimal" sequence.

Picked it up for $9.99 / $8.99 at BestBuy on clearance. Haven't played it yet, but a bunch of my X-Wing friends do.

Feels like only a partial game with 10 booster packs and two starter sets. The profits made by Disney and the publisher is so blatant it's like some creepy black figure is haunching behind me, breathing down the my nape, smelling of moldy, putrid greed. It was an interesting experience of a collectible card game. I would never do it again.

Comments based on: 6 plays using cards/dice in Two-Player Game; own. Things I like: • Theme—Star Wars is great! • Dice rolling mechanic is always exciting and introduces the element of chance • Cards and dice results lead to numerous strategic decisions that mitigate (but not element) the element of chance • Great-looking components • Can be played casually or competitively in organized play • Deck building can be highly strategic • Quick games Things I dislike: • Doesn't support more than 2 players • CCG model can get expensive quickly • Storing the components requires a third-party or do-it-yourself option
