Pattern Building is a system where players place game components in specific patterns in order to gain specific or variable game results. For example: placing chips on 2, 4, 6, 8 on a board gets the player an action card they can use later in the game.

Boardgamearena, Solo paar nette neue Möglichkeiten, aber zu kompliziert und dauert mir zu lange. Macht mir daher weniger Spaß als das Original.

good and thinky but also overly complicated the game, not as elegant as the original, you better solo it than teach it

I have had a chance to play this game a few times and at first I did not think I would like it since it is really involved and finicky. About halfway through my first play, I realized that I liked the struggle and the amount of different elements that has to be juggled and it was like a more intense puzzle than the regular Welcome To... If you like strategy games and puzzle games, I think this would be worth at least a play. There are a few elements (golf, loans) that can be left out of the game and you can incorporate them for later plays so it doesn't feel as overwhelming at first. I know some people really think it is too much for what it is but it fills a spot in my collection that I do not have and really enjoy the randomness but the ability to modify as I please as well which takes away the complete randomness. Right now, my rating is an 8.5 and hopefully after a few more plays I will be able to fully form an opinion of it.
