Play occurs upon a modular board that is composed of multiple pieces, often tiles or cards. In many games, board placement is randomized, leading to different possibilities for strategy and exploration. Some games in this category have multiple boards which are not used simultaneously, preserving table space. Unused boards remain out of play until they are required.
Modular Board
In storytelling games, players are provided with conceptual, written, or pictorial stimuli which must be incorporated into a story of the players' creation.
Storytelling
A time track mechanism is a variable player-turn order mechanism by which the player who is last on the time track goes next. The function of this mechanism can allow a player to have multiple sequential turns due to being last after each one.

I love this game! I asked the couple who own it to bring it to every game day and I never regret playing it. I do think that there is a sweet spot for player count of six players, though four players can also be really interesting, if you know the other person really well.

Je moet iets beschrijven aan je team maar mag sommige woorden niet zeggen. Deze woorden weet je niet want het andere team bedenkt deze woorden.

Probably my favorite party game. "Taboo, but you choose what words they aren't allowed to say" is a killer premise. The secret sauce: when setting traps you must consider not only what the secret word is, but also which of your friends will give the clues. Nothing quite feels like trapping an obscure or unrelated word and watching your friend run right into it... like you knew they would. The dungeon theming doesn't really do it for me. I mostly find the extra rules for specific rooms to be annoying, rather than interesting, but the core of the game is so strong it doesn't really matter. I understand that "Banned Words (2017)" is much like Trapwords without the dungeon theme, but I've yet to play it.
