Hand management games are games with cards in them that reward players for playing the cards in certain sequences or groups. The optimal sequence/grouping may vary, depending on board position, cards held and cards played by opponents. Managing your hand means gaining the most value out of available cards under given circumstances. Cards often have multiple uses in the game, further obfuscating an "optimal" sequence.
Hand Management
The primary goal of a set collection mechanic is to encourage a player to collect a set of items.
Set Collection
Maneuvers that directly attack an opposing player's strength, level, life points or do something else to impede their progress.

Iguanoman
For something made up for a fantasy world, this game not only turns out to be fun to play but is also different from most of the usual card games out there. The theme is nice, the various special powers of each card keeps things interesting, and it plays solidly enough. Sure it's a bit random, but as a gambling-style game that's fine. Also includes rules for integrating it with the Dungeons & Dragons RPG, but I haven't tried that out yet.

Excellent as far as card games go. Nice substitute for playing poker or some other more common card game. Make sure to read the rules, or you might end up playing the game wrong for a few years...

Easy to pick up, fast-paced, and fun dragon designs. You rely on luck a lot to win, but it's all in good fun with fake money. Going into debt is a neat mechanic that removes coins from play to speed up the end of the game, and some cards are more powerful the more players you have.
