Voting allows players to influence the outcome of certain events within the game. The vote may be all or nothing, choosing a target for an effect, or to determine the results of certain situations. Players’ votes may not have equal weight, and blocking a player from voting can be a valid tactic.

Subtext is sort of like Linq except with images instead of words. or sort of like Dixit except with self-drawn imagery. Either way the concept loses some of its appeal to me that way, be it because I simply have a higher affinity to words than to pictures, or because making the given images work feels more challenging to me than coming up with my own image clues. Subtext is fun enough with the right group and I'll happily play again but when the decision is up to me, I'll choose one of its relatives instead.

It's a must-have for party game fans. It's definitely just a twist on a few existing games - Dixit, The Chameleon, Pictomania all come to mind - it's another one of these "give a good clue, but not TOO good of a clue" kind of games.

This was entertaining and a cool idea that gave us a good amount of laughs, but it did get a mixed reception in our group. The scoring system seems necessary but wasn't intuitive to anyone.
