Voting allows players to influence the outcome of certain events within the game. The vote may be all or nothing, choosing a target for an effect, or to determine the results of certain situations. Players’ votes may not have equal weight, and blocking a player from voting can be a valid tactic.

The active player and one other player draw a clue relating to the same word; other players draw clues relating to something else. Everyone tries to identify which pic matches the active player's. Obviously the aim is to use clues which hint at the connection without being too blatant (I mean, the game is called "Subtext"). But this is difficult one one player's word is "Darth Vader" and one is "Eiffel Tower" and one is "Boat"; it's comparatively unlikely that there's going to be much overlap and the game only works if confusion is possible. I really wanted to like this game, and it's perfectly fine. The problem is that it seems worse than pretty much all of the competition, of which Pictomania is probably the closest. If you don't like drawing or that game's real-time element, the picture-based clue-giving/receiving seems better done in Belratti, or slightly wider afield in games like First Contact and Codenames. Or Telestrations/Eat Poop You Cat for just the drawing and fun part... Would play it but never, ever choose it.

It's a drawing game, with a bit of Dixit scoring. Honestly, not as clever as Dixit since it is dependent on drawing. Production is low, since the game where you draw a lot with has a pad paper smaller than a sticky note where we used almost half the sheets in one game with 5 players. Initial Score: 3.5

Fun party drawing game that is best with 5-6 players. See my detailed review: https://boardgamegeek.com/thread/2301080/enders-comprehensive-pictorial-review-clever-dixit
