This weird-ass take on doodling games is unfortunately pretty terrible, the lowlight of which is the most insanely complicated scoring method that I am still confused about. One person knows a word which is then mixed up with a bunch of other words and distributed amongst the other players. Make a quick drawing and see if you can pick out the person that got your word except there is some kind of convoluted Dixit-esque scoring pattern that made all of our heads hurt. It is a very pale shadow of any other game of this genre and I would much rather have spent the wasted time playing something like Pictomania or Fake Artist instead.

I think this is the first real miss for me with Warsch. Maybe we just didn't figure out how to play? Drawing to be recognized by the Dealer-- in case you're the Partner-- seemed like a different strategy than drawing to mislead other players, and being the Partner was usually worth more points. So n-2 of the players draw something that doesn't matter and feel silly. But like I said, maybe we just played wrong. If you could make one drawing to cover both cases it would work out pretty well.

Ah qu'il est dangereux de se lancer dans un jeu de dessin quand on est auteur, car Esquissé a donné le ton, placé la barre tellement haut en terme d'amusement et d'ambiance qu'il est devenu indétrônable. Ici l'auteur insiste sur le terme subtil et il sera en effet obligatoire de jouer de subtilité pour marquer des points, au risque de se dévoiler complice du joueur actif et de tout perdre. C'est un peu tordu, et ça manque surtout de fun. Next.
