What hue do you think of when we say “apple”? Hues and Cues is a vibrant game of colorful communication where players are challenged to make connections to colors with words. Using only one and two-word cues, players try to get others to guess a specific hue from the 480 colors on the game board. The closer the guesses are to the target, the more points you earn. Since everyone imagines colors differently, connecting colors and clues has never been this much fun!
Gather around with three to ten people to play a quick and simple game with a prism of possibilities! First, a “cue giver” hides a specific color they’ve chosen out of a deck of cards. There are 480 shades on the board in front of you! After getting one- and two-word cues, everyone places their marker on which color they think is being described. “Coffee.” Is it dark brown, as in freshly brewed? “Au lait.” With milk. That means I should pick a lighter shade!
Use examples from everyday life, from nature to pop culture, or materials and moods. Everyone around the table gets a turn to give cues and guess. The better your hints or guesses, the more points you earn. Play off others’ experiences to narrow down what they have in mind!

Not a terrible game, matching colors based on a description. I just have a really hard time differentiating between salmon and carnation. to me they are just pink. And i dont really care to play a game based on colors

"Codenames but with colors and using Dixit Scoring" is the quickest way to describe this. Has *shades* of Wavelength as well. Each turn you shout out some clues to what the color might be and everyone tries to guess exactly which shade you're hinting at. So simple you can teach the rules in less than a minute, but very satisfying. The greatest joy of the game is coming up with a really wild clue that everyone somehow instantly knows despite it being out there. Only issue is some colors seem to have better differentiation than others and that does drag the game down a little. There's a huge block of green squares about 10 wide that just looked the same to us and a fair amount of red that also seemed samey, but the purple and bluish colors are more easy to discern. Still, it's very fun and since it scores like Dixit a rising tide raises all boats so to speak, which is satisfying and gives a cooperative aspect to the game despite being competitive.

An interesting little party game where you are trying to get people to guess a shade by giving clues like "apple" or "Granny Smith". A very interesting concept. I only give it a 6 because of quality issues, as well as it getting a little lengthy with more players, simply because more people = more thinking time.
