Dice rolling in a game can be used for many things, randomness being the most obvious. Dice can also be used as counters. The dice themselves can be unique and different sizes, shapes and colors to represent different things.
Dice Rolling
Games that use the Memory mechanic require players to recall previous game events or information in order to reach an objective.

Player elimination occurs in multiple-player games (>2) when a player can be eliminated from the game and play continues without the eliminated player.
Player Elimination
Variable Player Powers is a mechanic that grants different abilities and/or paths to victory to the players.
Variable Player Powers
Voting allows players to influence the outcome of certain events within the game. The vote may be all or nothing, choosing a target for an effect, or to determine the results of certain situations. Players’ votes may not have equal weight, and blocking a player from voting can be a valid tactic.

I prefer „Burke’s Gambit” over any other social deduction game I’ve played, and not only because I’m sucker for anything „Alien”. I’ve read many negative thoughts about dice mechanic, and I get it – it often limits your actions to the point where you cant’ do much. But I still like these dice for a few reasons: #1: "Burke's Gambit" offers a lot of great dice-based abilities and actions to use, but on the same time does not overwhelm a player with a ton of specific rules to remember, as each action become relevant only when a certain symbol appears on a die rolled openly in front of everyone. #2: Some actions allow player to severely damage or insta-kill any other character – it’s good to have dice to limit the usage of these powerful actions, so the game would not become a cartoonish kill-fest from the start. I also love that you can reserve your die for a later use thus adding another layer of strategy #3: Engine Power-ups are also randomly drawn from the dice bag, and since they serve as a endgame timer, you don't know when the game is going to end - so should you reconsider your strategy and take action now or wait for a little longer?

Definitely fragile. Would not play at 7 (or 5) again, as I think it's too easy for the A.S.S. team. The dice are pretty random (and now that I think about it, I think I forgot you can re-roll them). Interesting concepts; maybe will try again.

Current favorite Social Deception game. Approachable for a new player, but has depth and a variety of interesting strategies. Lots of variety as far as situations go and fun events throughout keep things fresh and engaging. Plus, who doesn't love an off-brand Alien theme?
