Dice rolling in a game can be used for many things, randomness being the most obvious. Dice can also be used as counters. The dice themselves can be unique and different sizes, shapes and colors to represent different things.
Dice Rolling
Games that use the Memory mechanic require players to recall previous game events or information in order to reach an objective.

Player elimination occurs in multiple-player games (>2) when a player can be eliminated from the game and play continues without the eliminated player.
Player Elimination
Variable Player Powers is a mechanic that grants different abilities and/or paths to victory to the players.
Variable Player Powers
Voting allows players to influence the outcome of certain events within the game. The vote may be all or nothing, choosing a target for an effect, or to determine the results of certain situations. Players’ votes may not have equal weight, and blocking a player from voting can be a valid tactic.

While it is a light, entertaining deduction game, there is just no way of stopping anyone from just killing other players and then blindly voting out the aliens off the ship. This might just be in my playgroup, but so far the dice rolling adds nothing exciting in the game. It's either get shot, get healed, or progress in the story. It is still a fun game, just not a good deduction game.

A nice experiment in implementing dice into these Resistance style games. The dice streamline the decisions somewhat, which may make the game a little more approachable for some. But they can also ruin the experience as well. The theme is fine, but explaining it without referencing Alien is impossible. "So the good guys want to kill the infected person by pushing him out of the airlock? And the bad guys want to keep the infected person alive?" It's really kind of stupid how they had the bad players' company initials be A.S.S. Maybe if you were playing with 10 year olds they would find it funny, but it's just annoying, indicative of how the game company perceives its target audience. Like when you watch a movie in the theater and see the previews - you can see what studio executives really think of you by what ads they choose to feed you beforehand. But in the end, there is no reason to play this instead of Resistance. The main reason I took a chance is because one of my game friends' last name is Burke.

There are a lot of space-based social deduction games, but this one was a lot of fun. Would try again.
