Deck building/Pool building refers to a collection of related mechanisms. Players have a personal pool, or collection, of cards or tokens, that provide different actions and/or resources. A subset of those cards/tokens are randomly drawn each turn.
Deck / Pool Building
Hand management games are games with cards in them that reward players for playing the cards in certain sequences or groups. The optimal sequence/grouping may vary, depending on board position, cards held and cards played by opponents. Managing your hand means gaining the most value out of available cards under given circumstances. Cards often have multiple uses in the game, further obfuscating an "optimal" sequence.

It's a nice proposal. The magic cards are cool but don't work properly as a substitution of defense cards

[b]Rating based on - 5+ plays, 2 player[/b] Vikings Gone Wild: It's a Kind of Magic is one of the expansions for Vikings Gone Wild. When I got the retail version box in the post it seemed so empty that I picked this up soon after for a bit of variety. Even though it does a few different things, introduces new mechanisms etc., neither of us felt that it was very different from the basic game. We felt like our priorities were the same and that we were playing the same game as always. Nothing feels really different or special...just more of the same...The only thing the expansion feels like it adds is extra setup time. For me the art is the best part of this series. The game is OK, but I was never racing to play it. Found out after playing Vikings Gone Wild and a few others that I detest deckbuilding. [b]Status: SOLD with Vikings Gone Wild[/b]
