Hard to keep track of all the abilities and what was used in each turn. Was disappointed with my first couple of plays, put it away for a while, give it another try and after figuring it out better, I really enjoy it now!

Played with 4 at a game fair. As with a number of other roll 'n write games this is almost completely a solo affair, apart from comparing VPs. The only interaction in the game is selecting the bonus tile in player order. But there seldomly is any surprise as in which tile gets chosen first and second, so no added tension there. The game itself has a nice engine building promise (that probably has an optimal route), which means there's potentially a lot of scenarios to assess. What I didn't like is the time discrepancy in game turns. Sometimes you need to make a difficult choice, while all the other players are waiting. Every turn there's someone else smothering the game tempo. Another aspect is the fiddliness and bookkeeping of actions which I found error-prone. In some turns you can take so many actions, of which some are free, some are not and some require to assign a coin to a specific resource that taking some of your steps back becomes cumbersome. Plan first, write second. An OK single player experience I would think, but not something I'd need to play again with other players. It's a bit too disconnected for that.
