It was fine. I can see some strategy in it and it looks nice, but the cards sort of played you rather than the other way around.

The in-game process is pretty great. You are enjoying the drafting, the engine building, and the dumping of ingredients onto your opponent. And then someone declares the game has ended. That's it? Oh. OK. Sure.

I played a friend's copy of the game with them and my wife. The positives; we played three games back to back The artwork is clear The cauldron's are an attractive doodad Gameplay is relatively intuitive The negatives; Not having any reference anywhere other than the rules to how the arcana works The cauldron's represent at least 75% of the box size, I suspect replacing them with a card would mean this game could be in a 7 wonders duel or smaller box. The starting player powers are pointless to a starting player not knowing what is a good hand of cards or not The advanced powers don't feel like there has been an attempt to balance them Despite the large list of criticisms I think this is a fun game but perhaps could have been a smaller package and would benefit from tightening up.
