Hand management games are games with cards in them that reward players for playing the cards in certain sequences or groups. The optimal sequence/grouping may vary, depending on board position, cards held and cards played by opponents. Managing your hand means gaining the most value out of available cards under given circumstances. Cards often have multiple uses in the game, further obfuscating an "optimal" sequence.
Hand Management
The primary goal of a set collection mechanic is to encourage a player to collect a set of items.

Nice small and fast TTR game. Easy to play (7 year old son loves it). Same as TTR Europe but quicker and smaller. We love it as it is a perfect game to play in holidays or with all family members.

Solid variation to the small TTR line. I have now owned three of these "city" versions. This will probably be the version I stick with because 1) I lived in San Fran, so I like the setting and 2) the variation from version to version really isn't enough to warrant new purchases. That said, I think the district bonuses of the London map were more compelling than the tourist stops of NYC. But, I found the SF souvenir collection the most interesting of all because it's more push your luck. You start to question if you should bail on route completion and just start focus on connecting to locations with tokens to collect... but then there aren't enough for everyone, so if the other player(s) are thinking the same thing, it could be a race with minimal returns. Scores were always close, so either it's well balanced or we're all on the same efficiency/skill level. Look forward to quick plays of this here and there. Not sure if it's an all the time type of game for our group. But fun in small doses.
