It's pretty simple with a couple of rules that are more fiddly than they should be (the black flowers are bad wilds until you get them, then they are good wilds. The white flowers are their own color in front of your player shield, but they are a wild behind the shield.) Other than that, I have no real complaints. Simple and easygoing, with pretty components.

A beautiful push-your-luck-style game that is oddly more confusing to explain than it is to play. It plays quick too, so it's a nice filler.

Push-your-luck is at its best when the rules are simple enough that everybody understands what's at stake and there is actually something at stake which makes pushing your luck to the limit worthwhile. With regards to the first aspect, the Legend of the Cherry Tree succeeds well enough, even though the scoring rules seem a bit too strained and elaborate for the amount of control you have over what you actually get. The second aspect, however, is where it loses big to something like Can't Stop which is roughly in the same ballpark. It's quite possible to fail right with your first draw, but even if you the result typically isn't that much worse than an average successful turn. Probably the worst blow to the tension, however, is that there is a (very low) hard ceiling to what you can actually achieve even with a successful draw. When Hail Marys are de facto impossible, taking bigger risks in order to catch up becomes rather unattractive.
