Dice rolling in a game can be used for many things, randomness being the most obvious. Dice can also be used as counters. The dice themselves can be unique and different sizes, shapes and colors to represent different things.
Dice Rolling
This mechanic usually requires players to pick up an item or good at one location on the playing board and bring it to another location on the playing board. Initial placement of the item can be either predetermined or random. The delivery of the good usually gives the player money to do more actions with. In most cases, there is a game rule or another mechanic that determines where the item needs to go.
Pick-up and Deliver
Variable Player Powers is a mechanic that grants different abilities and/or paths to victory to the players.

Blue Hatter
It's essentially "Tremors the Board Game" and plays out in cheesy ways just like the movies, but that's just fine with me, I like the Tremors movies!

Inspired by Tremors the movie.Terror Below is a pick up and delivery game by Mike Elliott (Thunderstone, Star Trek: Fleet Captains). The goal is to collect eggs and bring them to a certain spot. Players use cards to determine where a worm moves and the number of actions. Pros: + Artwork (bright, colorful, clear) + Theme (highly inspired by Tremors) + Great components (colored wooden cars, colored plastic eggs and rubble tokens, worm standees, double-sided board) + Modular board + Players can move the worms (competitive player interaction) + Public objectives (first come, first serve) + Plenty of worms with different effects + Each player has 3 characters with special abilities and starting equipment. Only 1 character is active at a time (until eaten by a worm) + Equipment cards that grant one-time special effects (weapons to fight worms) + Quite quick to play Neutrals: # Solo mode # Luck of the draw (objectives, action cards, equipment cards) # Not a deep strategy game, more a light fun game # Potential player elimination (unlikely but may happen) # Rulesbook could be clearer

Review after one play. It will be my last play. Turns take way too long. Game is too random and chaotic. You can easily play another game during downtime. There is no reason to pay attention to the board or people's actions and planning ahead is useless. The most fun this game has to offer is having the worms killing whoever is is winning. I trust no one who likes this game.
