Hand management games are games with cards in them that reward players for playing the cards in certain sequences or groups. The optimal sequence/grouping may vary, depending on board position, cards held and cards played by opponents. Managing your hand means gaining the most value out of available cards under given circumstances. Cards often have multiple uses in the game, further obfuscating an "optimal" sequence.

My Favourite Smash Up Expansion! The Princess are Great. My favorite combo so far is Pirate/Princess.

I picked this up as a first expansion for Smash Up. After one play, it's not bad, but I'm not sure this is the best expansion to get as a first add. The artwork is great. Mixing princesses and zombies is great. However, at least upon first blush, the princesses and kittens are action-heavy decks, which requires some nuance to play. I'm not sure you can truly "smash up" any two decks and have a balanced game. A few more plays will likely help us figure out how to best integrate.

The idea is hilarious and I hope occasionally they'll run with stuff like this...mix up Kittens, Mythical Horses, Fairies and Princesses with your darker factions for a load of laughs. Smash Up knows no bounds to its entertaining absurdity, and yet it remains a very mechanically-driven, competitive title where much of the joy is in seeing how the abilities of your two Factions interact. Pretty Pretty is no exception to that.
