In-game money is bet on different commodities in hope that that particular commodity will become the most valuable as the game progresses. Often the values of the commodities are continually changing throughout the game, and the players buy and sell the commodities to make money off of their investment.
Commodity Speculation
Hand management games are games with cards in them that reward players for playing the cards in certain sequences or groups. The optimal sequence/grouping may vary, depending on board position, cards held and cards played by opponents. Managing your hand means gaining the most value out of available cards under given circumstances. Cards often have multiple uses in the game, further obfuscating an "optimal" sequence.
Hand Management
The simultaneous action selection mechanic lets players secretly choose their actions. After they are revealed, the actions resolve following the rule-set of the game.

This is a neat hand management/action selection game because almost every variable is known; everyone has the same hand of cards, everyone knows what other players have already played, everyone can see the market. Sometimes these simultaneous action games can be directly punishing for the cards you have played (Eminent Domain: Battlecruisers) or you may not even get to take the action (Citadels) but in this, it's all about timing, it's all about playing the common market so you may get the resources before anyone else can but you aren't directly screwing them over, you're just beating them to the punch and that in itself is a gratifying change to either outplay someone or have an appreciation for how they outplayed you. As of yet we have only played 3 players where everyone gets to play 2 cards a turn but I suspect the real game with 4+ where each player can only play 1 card a turn and the returns are more restrained and less swingy.

I guess it's good for a small and short game, but for sure not my kind of game. Pretty much just a bluffing game, with a solid game around it. Could be loved by those who like games like "Love Letter" and "Port Royale".

Great game for 4-6 players. Can also be played 2-3 players. Simultaneous action selection. Have enjoyed this with the kids so far. Would also be enjoyable with adults.
