Hand management games are games with cards in them that reward players for playing the cards in certain sequences or groups. The optimal sequence/grouping may vary, depending on board position, cards held and cards played by opponents. Managing your hand means gaining the most value out of available cards under given circumstances. Cards often have multiple uses in the game, further obfuscating an "optimal" sequence.

Miniature Market - Christmas 2015 First play-through was bad. But I quite enjoyed the second time through. It's a great trick taking game, where you're trying to be the first to rid your hand of all cards. The twist to this game it at the end of each round a new rule is added to the game that may require you to match a certain animal or draw several cards...etc.

Fantastic little Crazy 8's style card game with increasing depth as the game progresses. Each time someone wins a round, a new rule gets added to the mix. This is a great way to teach kids about matching symbols while also remembering rules & triggering actions & combos. The little rule tiles double as your score tracker, and they form a little treasure map, so once someone completes their map, they win! This is such a nice family-weight game that gamers can still enjoy. There is some light strategy in planning out your card plays according to the rules, and every game will be slightly different because of all the variation in rule tiles. Excellent family card game!

It's like UNO and Fluxx mixed together. It's easy to understand and teach, but takes too long for what it is with higher numbers of players. I've played with 3 and with 6 and 3 players was a much more enjoyable experience.
