Higher and higher, the construction grows. Before long, the steel girders reach dizzying heights. Fearlessly, the workers carry on, with nothing more than hardhats to protect them. The danger of collapse hangs over everything — so just make sure that nothing happens! You also have to impress Rita, the boss, if you want to be Employee of the Month. There’s a lot to do, so let’s get going!
Men At Work is a stacking and balancing game in which players compete as workers on a job site who are carefully constructing a tower to avoid accidents and, maybe, earn Employee of the Month. The game includes three gaming modules to add loads of replayability, as well as wooden components housed within a well-designed insert for easy set up.

Stacking dexterity game where all players stack different wooden pieces on a common construction side based on cards (provide the requirement). + Artwork (cartoony, vibrant, colorful) + Theme (based on construction side, funny) + Components (great wooden pieces and workers) + Fun constructions where pieces may be built on each other at different angles + Tasks define what has to be set next + 2 goals to end the game + Some variants for variety + If a player fails and the constructions collapse, the next player has to clear the mess up + Easy to teach and play + Quick playing time Neutrals: # Family game # Luck of the draw for the next task card Cons: - Tasks cards are not always clear - Player elimination (each player can mess up three times) - After a player has messed up, the next player has to clean up which is quite a disadvantage for the next player. Similar games: * Tokyo Highway (unique dexterity stacking game where player build a complex highway road with varying heights) * Rift Raff (thematic, pirate theme) * Junk Art (different disciplines that provide variety, card-based requirements and player interaction) * Meeple Circus (build figures with wooden meeples based on cards) * Rhino Hero (card-board based stacking game, card-based) * Palazzo Paletti * Jenga (classic dexterity game, removing pieces form a tower) * Menara (cooperative stacking game)

Essen 2018 - my plays say 2 but I suspect I've played this closer to 20. Have bought to last three family cons and its always a hit with adults and children. Especially adults after a few drinks. One of the best of the dexterity games and super components.

A dexterity game in which a card draw sets your challenge for the turn. It will involve placing a girder or a worker, but with conditions to make placement trickier, such as balancing bricks and beams on the worker's shoulders or placing your girder so that it touches another of a certain colour. Worker of the month awards that are won for placing the highest piece on the construction incentivise daring play. There is also plenty of scope to make the construction more precarious. Lose one of three lives if anything falls off on your turn. I enjoy balancing games and this is a good one. The wooden components look great and are well made.
