Card drafting games are games in which players pick cards from a limited subset, such as a common pool, to gain some advantage (immediate or longterm) or to assemble hands of cards that are used to meet objectives within the game.
Card Drafting
The primary goal of a set collection mechanic is to encourage a player to collect a set of items.

❦ Solo Mode // [filepage=160452]Unofficial Solo Variant[/filepage] ❦ Required Play Space // 26" x 20" ❦ Setup Time // Almost None ❦ Play Time // 15-20 Minutes per Play  All of the icons are easy to locate and different enough to ensure that they can be counted in a matter of seconds. The building card panorama creates a lovely visual that brings everything together to create a cohesive play area. During setup, buildings may be flipped since each side offers something a little different in terms of scoring. Lower-level citizens often help boost the victory points of some of the higher-level buildings. There is a sense of variety with the starting citizen cards since only 6 are pulled from a fairly large deck. Citizens with dual roles provide more compelling choices and often open up the available recruitment options. Every building provides some sort of bonus, so the choices are rarely compelling with almost no challenge. The box size is too large with plenty of empty space, while the cards themselves are only of mediocre quality. Using the meeples to recruit citizen cards further down the line often means the first card gets ignored. Not all of the rules are clear and some of the wording leads to mistakes or too many ambiguities for a short game.

I like this little game, but I don't understand why people are saying it's better than Splendor or comparing it at all. I get that it is the same designer. It's about as good and about as consistent, but it is vastly different in game play. My guess is that this game will only grow in popularity, as Splendor did, and it will cause game critics to scratch their heads as to why. The game is short, to the point, and fun. That is why.

It has a very easy appeal and glorious components. Fishing through the scoring chips is satisfying. The combo of cards are fun and there are some interesting decision in choosing when to go for certain cards. Scoring remains close throughout although it does amount to a race game and optimal scoring decisions take time. I like it quite a bit for what it is.
