First play impressions. Lovely racing game. It feels like a roll & write and frankly, that works for this game. There's some fun tension with the horse-buying and betting. Obviously it's pretty random with the dice, but I think there's enough 'tricks' to allow some strategy to shine through and to give it some crunch. I like that this version is quite short, which makes it fit the niche of 'light fun game after a big game' quite well.

The game offers everything I wanted from Camel Cup, only even better: excitement, chaos, risk and fun. A great game.

May not replace Fleet the Dice Game as my dice roll and write pub go-to. A bit chaotic as people (non-gamers especially) learn what is meant by Jersey action. The folks in my game group are referring to this as “more complicated Camel Up”. They seem to land this at a solid 6. I am struggling to really enjoy this one. I even had a turn where, through horse abilities, I was able to close out 2 rows and 2 columns in the concession stand. One would think that would feel totally rewarding and combotastic, but it didn’t. Can see why another commenter likened the end game to a random shuffle. For some reason our games take longer than the 30 minutes that others are reporting. Our games are tending to be more like 60 minutes. Another comment I read that made sense is that while there are many dials to turn with this game, none really seem to do anything different.
