In programming, every player must secretly choose and commit their moves for the next 'n' turns. Then each player plays their turns out according to the choices made. The key to Action / Movement Programming is that all players choose and lock in their actions, prior to anyone executing any of their actions.
Action / Movement Programming
Hand management games are games with cards in them that reward players for playing the cards in certain sequences or groups. The optimal sequence/grouping may vary, depending on board position, cards held and cards played by opponents. Managing your hand means gaining the most value out of available cards under given circumstances. Cards often have multiple uses in the game, further obfuscating an "optimal" sequence.
Hand Management
Maneuvers that directly attack an opposing player's strength, level, life points or do something else to impede their progress.

Was hoping this would be "like Roborally but with fish" but it isn't. The game does not really have "programmable movement", it is play a card from your hand and move your fish in the sequence of arrows/rotates shown. Sometimes you will have the perfect card for the situation allowing you to scoop up points effortlessly and sometimes you will have a hand of worthless garbage. The large swing from what you draw is very frustrating. Too bad because the art/components are very beautiful.

This game has a more pleasing look than Robo-Rally. I think the programming is a bit easier than in Robo-Rally, but Koi has more screwage than I remember from Robo-Rally.

Good looking game (I'm not personally a fan of its style of artwork but it's good enough. The different tokens seem fiddly and easy to break, although that is not the case for now. I has some nice interaction and stabbing between players (which is not my girlfriend's cup of tea) but its short gameplay, the artwork (ok or great, depending on personal taste) as well the ease of play makes it a keeper. Some rules needed clarification in the forums but nothing that couldn't be houseruled in any case. A solid product at an ok price.
