Quite engaging; excellent for getting a table laughing, shouting and working together. ...don't expect depth though, or requests for many replays except from those really into dexterity games.

A decently fun dexterity game that has a little more game to it than most other dexterity games. Each turn, you got to flick some discs at an onslaught of enemy ships, represented by cards. Some of the ships have special abilities, and they have different movement and attack abilities, so you'll have to do some strategizing about which ships are a priority to kill (which you do by landing your disc on the ship card), and which you can let slide. The ships you don't kill advance toward your city, doing damage to it if you let them get too close. If that happens enough times, you lose. You win by blowing up all the ships, and also blowing up a giant mothership, which is a box you have to flick your disc into at a fair distance. The thing I like about the game is also the thing I didn't really like, in that there's more game here than the standard dexterity game. One one hand, that's kind of cool to have a dexterity game that also has some gamery strategy, but on the other hand, some things felt weird due to the gaminess. For example, the game gives you more ships to flick the closer you are to losing. This resulted in odd decisions of intentionally letting some ships damage us just so the game would give us more reinforcements, which felt anti-thematic. Overall, I like it OK, and it's certainly unique among dexterity games, but it wasn't a big stand out either. It does have the best cover artwork I've ever seen though.

+ Fast to set up, teach, and play makes it a great filler; Giving each person their own unique ships with special abilities brings this one up a notch or two. - Why aren't there more ship abilities; why hasn't there been an expansion or two already to keep this fresh?
