Hand management games are games with cards in them that reward players for playing the cards in certain sequences or groups. The optimal sequence/grouping may vary, depending on board position, cards held and cards played by opponents. Managing your hand means gaining the most value out of available cards under given circumstances. Cards often have multiple uses in the game, further obfuscating an "optimal" sequence.
Hand Management
Pattern Building is a system where players place game components in specific patterns in order to gain specific or variable game results. For example: placing chips on 2, 4, 6, 8 on a board gets the player an action card they can use later in the game.

A solid light abstract with a decent amount of playtime contained in the box. Can teach it to anyone very quickly, and makes a decent filler at any of the player counts. A little too much luck involved for my taste - you'll often be drawing blind off the top of the deck, and sometimes you're left with pretty unachievable objectives, or someone will hit a run of better card draws. There are also serious balance issues with the objectives - a game can be massively uphill for a given player if their choices of secret objectives don't pair well with the public ones. Good production value for the price as well.

Very neat tiny game. Quickly explained. Ideal to take on a trip with the metal box. The cards look amazing with the golden shine! Strongly recommended for a small game.
Chabousse
Straight forward fast game, beautiful. Fun, even if it could have a bit more open. The fulfilment of the personal objectives can highly depend on the draw deck. Blue and green colours are too similar.
