Pattern Building is a system where players place game components in specific patterns in order to gain specific or variable game results. For example: placing chips on 2, 4, 6, 8 on a board gets the player an action card they can use later in the game.

Cute abstract that I wouldn't have played if not for the very cute theme. Very similar to chess/checkers/go in some ways which just isn't my type of game. Likely has more depth if you continued to play it many times, but that's not something I will end up doing. Not for me.

Easy to teach, easy to play. An instant hit with my partner. Only wish the box was smaller and easier to transport for nights out.

Boop has very simple mechanics, but is very confusing when playing this for the first time. What are you supposed to do? As someone who is not great at Grid Movement games, this took a few times before I had any resemblence of tactics in my head. I'm still really bad at this game, but I can recognize some shapes to aim for when playing this game. Ultimately I don't think this is worth to have in my collection, but it's always surprisingly fun to teach this to newer players. It lacks some replayability for me, but it's a nice novelty.
