Card drafting games are games in which players pick cards from a limited subset, such as a common pool, to gain some advantage (immediate or longterm) or to assemble hands of cards that are used to meet objectives within the game.
Card Drafting
Hand management games are games with cards in them that reward players for playing the cards in certain sequences or groups. The optimal sequence/grouping may vary, depending on board position, cards held and cards played by opponents. Managing your hand means gaining the most value out of available cards under given circumstances. Cards often have multiple uses in the game, further obfuscating an "optimal" sequence.

This is really a pretty simple card game with overproduced components but that's not necessarily a bad thing. The 3d stands and meeples are cool. It just comes down to how much you paid for the game. I think you get a much better value and experience the less you pay as it is pretty simple. I'd be curious to try the advanced variant on the forums.

I feel like I couldn't get ahead because of one card "choice" (it's what I had in my hand and literally the only action available) and lack of options (that one choice locked me in for things that I couldn't do with zero option to do anything else). Maybe I'll play again to see if it plays/feels different the next time. But probably not. Blah.

The concept is fun. A race to 13, accumulate simple value cards in 4 suits, spend them to get cards that give you one-time use powers and 2 points each. The setting is fun, aided by the art and fun declaration of each of your scoring cards. Score board is a bit finicky, might benefit from rebalancing the amount of each suit in the barker's deck.
