This mechanism requires players to select individual actions from a set of actions available to all players. Players generally select actions one-at-a-time and in turn order. There is usually(*) a limit on the number of times a single action may be taken. Actions are commonly selected by the placement of game pieces or tokens on the selected actions. Each player usually has a limited number of pieces with which to participate in the process.

Funky Disco
A fairly simple worker placement game that should honestly play faster than the 45 minute time it claims. A good design and a fun theme that thankfully doesn't take itself too seriously.

The goal of the game is to collect 10 stars, each card is worth a number of stars. On your turn you can perform one action: upgrade your board (1 time only), buy a card, put 2 of your workers in one or two location boxes, or throw all the workers from one location into the totem. I LOVE THE TOTEM! ? let me first tell you about the location boxes, it's where you can get resources: berries, wood, stone or tiger-skin. With these resources you can buy cards. But! There is a catch, you can only get the resources if your worker falls out of the totem! ? And your workers, cavemen, aren't really smart, so for example to get stone, you will need to get two workers out the totem to carry 1 stone. However, for berries, wood and leaves you only need 1 worker out of the totem. In order to get 1 tiger skin, you need a working spear, because if the tiger falls out of the totem, you have to fight it! But if it doesn't fall out this time, it can get out on another time with another location maybe! ? If you throw all the workers of 1 location into the totem, only the ones that fall out get a reward. Each player has a drum available, which means they can hit the sides of the totem to try if they can get out more workers. Babies are made in the love tent ? you can make babies with other coloured workers, and if you end up flying solo because nobody wants to make a baby with you, you get so sad and you just go back to work (I.e. you can throw the worker in a location box for free). There are also special event cards (last picture), for example a BEAR! ? or a cocktail party or Ugh-lympic games. All in all a hilarious game that doesn't take too long to learn or to play, but it is just great fun! Sleeved
