Dull, short, bad component and app quality (with required registration, if I remember correctly). Not recommended.

I found this game really nice! It's a story based linear escape game wich suits perfectly well for family or friends events. It has a really good combination of different types of puzzles, some of the are more challenging some a bit easier. It also has a very good design and the game materials are of a very high quality. Really didn't get it how people rate it with a 1 just because it is not a table top game. The only sad thing is that you just play it once but the experience you get is really worth it!

The Unfinished Case of Holmes is an escape room game which spreads its puzzle pieces across oversized game sheets, sealed envelopes and a digital app. Rather unusually for the genre, a few puzzles require real-world information from the internet to be solved. The game also comes in two difficulty modes; most players should opt for the expert mode since the standard mode does a lot of hand-holding. There are two design quirks which detract from the experience. First, the game requires players to arrange the puzzle sheets in order early on, and this gives away a major spoiler for one of the later puzzles. Second, several puzzles effectively have multiple choice answers, and players are able to brute force the solutions without any penalty. This is especially odd given that the system penalises hints but not wrong answers. The overall experience was still decent – my group found the musical note puzzle quite clever – but it lacked the polish of other established franchises.
