Your civilization has reached the stars, and your population is hungry for discovery. Explore, colonize, research — but be sure to build up your strength to be ready for the dangers that await!
One Deck Galaxy is a co-op space civilization-building game using only cards, dice, and tokens. Each card in the deck represents both a location in space your civilization has scouted, but also the benefits it could reap by colonizing or studying it. These benefits increase your ability to roll dice and manipulate them, and help your civilization grow stronger. When the deck runs out, the era advances and your foes become more dangerous. If you’re not ready, they may overwhelm you and send your empire into decline before it can become truly great!

Played a prototype 2v2 game at Gen Con 2018. A lot of similarities to "One Deck Dungeon," of course. This was the first time I've played this system with anything more than one player. It works, though maybe a bit awkwardly. Seems like some of the cards and mechanics are WIP, so I don't want to get too deep into review territory. What I can say is that the game still scratches that same ODD itch, though it might put people off with its increased complexity. Me, I enjoyed it. And, talking to the designer afterward, I sense that he has a good feel for what needs tweaking. So this one's shaping up well.

There is a very nice puzzle game underneath an almost impenetrable rulebook. Theme works and I love how the same cards can be used in so many different ways. I very nearly gave up with this one, so frustrating it was to investigate how the hell this is played. Even after watching gameplay video by the creator I have regularly to re-read the rules. It doesn't help that every adversary of the game has its own ruleset.

Ugh. What a let down. I was hoping for One Deck Dungeon in Space... what I got feels more like work than play. The card tucking, the complicated rule set... all effort and no joy. Tried to get it to the table three times and only experienced frustration. Ended up giving it away.
