Mythos is the love child of Sherlock Holmes Consulting Detective and H.P. Lovecraft. The game is not a proper game, but more an activity: there are no rules, and players must visit various places to solve a mystery. The key differences between Mythos and Sherlock are the supernatural element, and an internal clock that forces players to rush towards a solution. Cases appear more straightforward than in SH, but somewhat engaging anyway. The italian edition makes a good job separating the cases in small booklets, but loses the bigger map of its english counterpart. The translation incorporates the errata (fixing the quibbles of the english edition), but is a bit shorter of being top-notch.

Most similar to Sherlock Holmes but with the interesting feature of night and day phases during the investigation.

I haven't played Sherlock so can't compare, but I found the story to be uninteresting and the decisions ridiculously obvious. Hoping for an challenging and rewarding deduction game, we came away feeling like we had read a straightforward choose-your-own-adventure book for children, albeit with a more adult theme. And sooo many typos.
