Cooperative Play
Dice rolling in a game can be used for many things, randomness being the most obvious. Dice can also be used as counters. The dice themselves can be unique and different sizes, shapes and colors to represent different things.
Dice Rolling
Games where you repeat an action (or part of an action) until you decide to stop due to increased (or not) risk of losing points or your turn.

Some board games incorporate elements of role playing. It can be that players control a character that improves over time. It can also be a game that encourages or inspires storytelling.
Role Playing
In storytelling games, players are provided with conceptual, written, or pictorial stimuli which must be incorporated into a story of the players' creation.

I like this one a lot! It's dice-rolling coop. Relatively few choices, but there are some. It's not deep or strategic at all, but it is *VERY* thematic! The theme sells it for me. It's fun to play, not very long, and just works.

Quite a basic game that once you have won a few times has nothing left to offer but is enjoyable while it lasts.

Escape the Dark Castle is a game for those who like challenging cooperative games. It's morbid, especially with the addition of the Death Book that reads you a different ending dependent on who has the YOU token and what card you fail on. With this addition, each failure brings another macabre entry of what horrors your characters are experiencing in the depths of this terrible castle. The Death Book makes losing even more interesting than winning! The fact that even 1 person of your group perishing causes a total loss increases the challenge of the game, and the thrill when you finally win - and you get to start your new adventure. As a personal addition - my friend and I are planning an Escape the Dark Castle/DCC crossover. The plan is to play EtDC until we win, and then take the winning professions and the end-of-game starting equipment and run right into level 0 of a DCC campaign, with the character stats being based on the EtDC character stats, and starting equipment being what we leave the castle with. Once we're able to game in-person again, I'm very much looking forward to doing that!
