Ancient secrets, sandblasted ruins, and unprecedented horrors await in Under the Pyramids! This side board expansion opens up six new locations throught Egypt, including bustling Cairo, ancient Tel El-Amarna, and the shining, snaking, Nile River.

I beat the Dark Pharaoh. It was amazing! Of course, I later found out that I made a few minor rule mistakes. Doesn't take away from the euphoria of my win. Of all the expansions, this was my favorite theme going in. But to be honest, EH is a mystery adventure. So all the settings fit nicely when you think about it.

Some tight new Old Ones to fight, and a structure pretty similar to Mountains of Madness, the previous larger box expansion. A side board if you're playing 'Under the Pyramids' itself, new Encounter decks for that, and then a pile of cards, monster tokens, and other things to just mix in with the rest and really flesh out the game that much more. There is also an Adventure deck for Under the Pyramids. Only new mechanic here really is 'Impairment' tokens, which are the opposite of 'Improvement' tokens and brought on by various Curses, etc. 8 new Investigators bring the total to 32. Damn.

The game takes long enough to set up / tear down without adding additional boards. I like to play with the extra cards of course and one of the Ancient Ones is great to play with. Occasionally worth playing with the extra board for a bit of variety.
