It has been months since you saw the sunset city in a dream—towering minarets and domes, crossed by shadow and red light from the gently setting orb of fire that permanently rests outside the city. Since then, you’ve crossed these borders every night, searching for the city, hoping to set foot inside.

Perhaps the weakest AOs - not too well known in Mythos cannon. However, the chance to explore the Dreamlands adds a whole new layer to the base game and it's nice to include this side of Lovecraft's work, which is often overlooked or not as popular for some reason. I find this expansion very fresh and thematic.

Holy moly they nailed it with this expansion! Like the pyramid side board from "Under the Pyramids", the dreamland side board is easy to access. This big box expansion is the most straight forward comparred to "Mountains of Madness" and "Under the Pyramids". You get the focus tokens and NO impairment tokens. The ancient ones are great and especially Hypnos is very thematic and quite scary as he tries to put the World to sleep. I find "The Dreamlands" the most accessable of the three big boxes on the market. So far I will recommend the big box expansions in the following order: The Dreamlands Under the Pyramids Mountains of Madness

Another large box expansion which introduces the very cool Dreamlands add-on board, two new bosses including Hypnos, and a lot more characters, equipment, and other cards you can mix in to the rest of your stuff to make this even huger. Still my preferred board game for this theme, even though it's getting heavy competition this year from Mansions of Madness 2nd edition and the Arkham Horror LCG.
