You feel it just below the surface. Something gnawing at the edges of society, an ancient being that could so easily erase the steady march of machines and concrete that have come to be recognized as progress in the modern world. Your visions show you a desolate future, where all that remains is dust, ash, and those who have long-slumbered.

This deep in the game, the quality keeps coming, Cities in Ruin offers a new mechanic in which city locations on the board can be destroyed, as well as the expected new Old One (Shudde M'ell) and its minions (Cthonians).

Not usually one to coo about this, but the artwork for the devastation cards is gorgeous. It's a fun mechanic, too.

Pros: - adds disasters that may come from different sources: AO, conditions, mythos, preludes etc., - Shudde M'ell - difficult AO with awesome epic monsters, - excellent preludes that make the game harder, - new difficult monsters (crappy Ythian), - new investigators and equippement (talents!). Cons: - slightly too big disaster tokens; they could be the size of clue or bigger like secret token; with too many things on the city tile and bunch of monsters you can barely fit them in.
