You feel it just below the surface. Something gnawing at the edges of society, an ancient being that could so easily erase the steady march of machines and concrete that have come to be recognized as progress in the modern world. Your visions show you a desolate future, where all that remains is dust, ash, and those who have long-slumbered.

2017 My favorite so far of the smaller expansion boxes. The devastation mechanic makes Shudde M'ell really stand out as an AO, and the inclusion of the devastation mechanic in a prelude and many of the Mythos cards allows this to come into play in games not featuring this AO.

The base game is a great co-op game, awesome theme and beautiful artwork. It has a lot of repleyability due to different configurations, characters, items and enemies, specially with this and other expansions. This game is HARD, wich is honestly a really big plus on my list, and finally beating the game is really satisfying as a team. However, the setup can take a long time if you're not familiar with the game and sometimes it feels like you don't do anything on your turn, particularly if you're stunned (lost in space and time, or whatever).

This deep in the game, the quality keeps coming, Cities in Ruin offers a new mechanic in which city locations on the board can be destroyed, as well as the expected new Old One (Shudde M'ell) and its minions (Cthonians).
