Dice rolling in a game can be used for many things, randomness being the most obvious. Dice can also be used as counters. The dice themselves can be unique and different sizes, shapes and colors to represent different things.

the set up seems to be exceptionally complex. I'm not sure. I'm willing to play but there are more options...
Gunness
The story is surprisingly well-written, engaging and touching. I'm also impressed with the variation in the different tasks across the comazones. But there's just not enough to do in the individual zones. We also struggled quite a bit with the overall concept of finding the Prime I.D. - I don't think this (or the totems) is explained well enough in the rulebook, which made our first game more frustrating than necessary. Because the actual gameplay is pretty straight-forward.

This game is ruined by a terrible rulebook and incomplete/confusing instructions in the adventure book. The ideas here are cool, and the story is interesting, so this might have been a neat game if it had an even remotely competent rulebook. But it's largely unplayable without making up your own rules to fill in all the gaps in the rulebook and adventure book. I never understand why designers ruin their games with incompetent rulebooks.
