Dice rolling in a game can be used for many things, randomness being the most obvious. Dice can also be used as counters. The dice themselves can be unique and different sizes, shapes and colors to represent different things.

Comanauts is an adventure game by Jerry Hawthorne (Mice & Mystics, Stuffed Fables) with a good story but not so good gameplay. What makes it special? * Unusual mishmash of themes and characters * The game comes as a book (scenarios and maps are in the book) Pros: + Narrative Cons: # Light complexity, simple decision-making based on odds Cons: - Playing time depends on how lucky you draw clues - One-time game Similar games: * Stuffed Fables (similar story book, same game system, for children, easy difficulty, dungeon crawler)

Played through this as a campaign solo. Lovely narrative story when playing through that was thoughfull. ok game but I felt like repeating comazones if lost a game became a bit repetitive and the more I played game the more was in a rush to figure out who prime Id was so could just jump to that zone and get to them. Some very exciting scenarios though when explored first time. Have given copy to my nieces as they love these storybook games and hope to one day play through it with them and experience the game as a multiplayer game.
