Dice rolling in a game can be used for many things, randomness being the most obvious. Dice can also be used as counters. The dice themselves can be unique and different sizes, shapes and colors to represent different things.
Dice Rolling
Hand management games are games with cards in them that reward players for playing the cards in certain sequences or groups. The optimal sequence/grouping may vary, depending on board position, cards held and cards played by opponents. Managing your hand means gaining the most value out of available cards under given circumstances. Cards often have multiple uses in the game, further obfuscating an "optimal" sequence.
Hand Management
In storytelling games, players are provided with conceptual, written, or pictorial stimuli which must be incorporated into a story of the players' creation.

So quick to jump in and play, great and light intro to boardgames, funny, brilliantly bad writing... Completely recommend.

If you grew up with the books it's nostalgic and fun in that nostalgic way, including humor targeting the age you were when you read the books. But as an adult though it's like playing Candy Land just about. It's not the worse thing I ever played, but if you are looking for anything more complex or entertaining that re-reading the books would be, you'll be disappointed as the game play has a complexity of 0.1 out of 5. Good to get your kid or nephew/niece but not for anyone into serious games in my opinion.

I have to admit that this was a nostalgia purchase. I played it through in about two hours and completed it successfully, but it didn’t really do it for me. With that being said, I have to accept I’m probably not the target audience. Put this in front of a 6 to 10 year old (despite the “Ages 10+” publisher recommendation), and the whimsy contained on each card will be far more appreciated. I recommend a parent guide their kid through this adventure as there are many opportunities to try out different voices and sound effects. But if you’re an adult thinking of getting this to take a stroll through memory lane, you’re better off just replaying the memories in your head.
