Dice rolling in a game can be used for many things, randomness being the most obvious. Dice can also be used as counters. The dice themselves can be unique and different sizes, shapes and colors to represent different things.

Hand management games are games with cards in them that reward players for playing the cards in certain sequences or groups. The optimal sequence/grouping may vary, depending on board position, cards held and cards played by opponents. Managing your hand means gaining the most value out of available cards under given circumstances. Cards often have multiple uses in the game, further obfuscating an "optimal" sequence.
Hand Management
In storytelling games, players are provided with conceptual, written, or pictorial stimuli which must be incorporated into a story of the players' creation.

I loved House of Danger. The sequel is... decent. The ridiculous, over-the-top writing is still there. But the designers have made some choices that, while perhaps making a better product, make for a less fun experience. In HoD, you essentially play one long story. Yes, you only play once, but it was hilarious and immersive. Here, there's a lot more replayability but at the cost of the story. Each game is around a one-hour chunk, but you see less of the story, encouraging you to play again. For me, I'd rather have one full night of fun than several nights returning to something that's partially new (and a game system that works as far as it goes, but isn't that great) . I guess, I'm in for one night, maybe not five or six.

Tried playing this, since I enjoyed House of Danger, and it just didn't have the same feel or heart. Sold Feb 2022

Playing with a very animated and silly group still couldn’t save this game. I was dozing off through the story so had no idea what was going on. One of the few games I actually couldn’t wait for it to end. The RNG Gods made this game just pointless reading with failed after failed challenges. certain story moments referenced certain data cards which are impossible to calculate the chances of having that story beat (starting planet is random, rolling dice for success is random so getting that item isn’t guaranteed). An overinflated replayability system that isn’t necessarily achieved without luck, cheating, or suffering through countless replays. And nothing about the story motivates that kind of effort.
