40m - 40m
2 - 4 Players
Ages 13+
This mechanism requires players to select individual actions from a set of actions available to all players. Players generally select actions one-at-a-time and in turn order. There is usually(*) a limit on the number of times a single action may be taken. Actions are commonly selected by the placement of game pieces or tokens on the selected actions. Each player usually has a limited number of pieces with which to participate in the process.

- it's an interesting idea. Playing without knowing what the scoring goals are, and trying to find them out throughout the game. My problem with it is, there are some goals where you really need to focus on right from the start, in order to achieve them, but you might not know if that course of action will be a home run or a big strike out till it's too late.

Code of Nine is pretty lacking in theme, but it is an interesting mash-up of worker placement and deduction games that plays smooth and quickly. It reminds me a bit of Shadow Hunters with the difference being that players actually decide and compete for information and resources. There is a little bit of luck in the game, but players should able to figure out the majority of the game's objectives before getting the chance to execute some strategy and allow deduction to determine the rest. I could see my rating going up or down with future plays, but for now, I find it a game I enjoy exploring.

Players: 3-4, Best: 4 Playing Time: 40 Minutes Complexity: 2.40 A surprisingly solid worker placement game. Play as AI competing to build the best memorial to humanity. With 5 rounds and 3 actions per round every choice matters. However you only know a fraction of how the game will be scored and must find out more.
