Dice rolling in a game can be used for many things, randomness being the most obvious. Dice can also be used as counters. The dice themselves can be unique and different sizes, shapes and colors to represent different things.

Hand management games are games with cards in them that reward players for playing the cards in certain sequences or groups. The optimal sequence/grouping may vary, depending on board position, cards held and cards played by opponents. Managing your hand means gaining the most value out of available cards under given circumstances. Cards often have multiple uses in the game, further obfuscating an "optimal" sequence.

There's a little bit of frustrating randomness in what you get and some opaque strategy, but I enjoyed the interplay between the conquering and the deck building. I just wish the morality track...did something

Kind of disappointing, would've been a fine beer and pretzel game if the setup and teardown wasn't so long. Also due to the RNG in this game I don't see myself playing it over any other area control or deckbuilding game.

I really wanted to like this game. You have to play either “evil” or “good”. If you try to stay in the middle you will lose. If you go “evil” you will lose to “good”. So don’t try to keep your hand size down. It will not help you.
