Enjoyable little game. A good amount of luck, especially dealing with when which ghost cards are drawn. I would suggest leaving out a couple of the multi colored ghosts for your first plays so you won't get turned off. Then you can add one or all back as you see fit. I would also suggest leaving out the Hungry Manitou entirely. It possesses all players and you must roll a certain symbol, one on each die, to discard the possession status. Causes too many problems and can cause a scenario where all players cannot do anything round after round. I for one want to play the game not sit there not being able to do anything.

Update: played it 2p today. The rules are still awful. It does player 2p, but not sure I’d want to play with more. It’s really easy to have little to do on a turn. I still dislike not being able to inefficiently spend actions to do another actions (a flaw imho with many dice action games). But not forgetting the rule that you can use any two dice to move helps (would help more if that were a general rule but whatever). There’s still lack of clarity. For example the rules say players may once a round have a ghostbuster give another player in the same area a dice, but rereading it now makes me think it’s collectively once among all players rather than once per activation. In the end, I think this is an average coop, that feels only mildly better than average because of the theme. I am bumping my score from 5 to 6, but understand that it’s only the theme that’s bumping my score at this point. It is a 5 as a game without that theme. But the theme will likely have it remain in my collection because I’m a sucker for coops these days. But there’s plenty of better coops out there and this isn’t a game I’d recommend to anyone who isn’t a ghostbusters fan. I’ll likely do a house rule regarding dice efficiency, probably spend any two dice to change a remaining die to your choice of face. Original: probably just as good solo as any other player count since it plays exactly the same and always requires 4 ghostbusters. As far as Ghostbusters games go, I’m sure it’s among the best, but from what I understand it’s a pretty low bar. I felt there were two major issues for me with the game, both of which are to tastes. One is that it was just way too luck based. You need to move, but you can’t, reroll, still can’t, and also can’t and now you’ve spent your whole turn not moving and got little to no dice left (edit: I missed a rule where you CAN discard two dice to move). A simple spend two of the same dice to equal one of any action house rule would have probably improved that issue and may have convinced me to keep the game if it weren’t for issue two. Issue two is that I just felt like there were a lot of text effects to keep track of. This would be easier with someone who isn’t me, since I have bad working memory. But I also felt there was additional text where icons would have worked (“cause two chaos”, instead of just showing a chaos icon with a +2 like the board was a strange choice). Three ish, the rulebook isn’t bad, I like that it is brief, but it has a badly phrased rule that really confused me and since this is a more mass market IP, I suspect it will not help the game much. It says ‘complete your action’ when it should say ‘complete your actions’. The rules the book is wrong, but it’s clear from the back of the rulebook you get more than one action per activation. If you’re a big fan of the IP and not that into board games, this is likely a fine purchase. But if you’re into coop games, there’s so many these days that it would be pretty easy to find a better one. But it would also be pretty easy to find a worse one.

Broken. See here for the worst example: https://boardgamegeek.com/thread/2525290/does-tiamat-hungry-manitou-make-game-impossible But in general, the rules aren’t finished enough, and every play is a mess of randomness.
