Dice rolling in a game can be used for many things, randomness being the most obvious. Dice can also be used as counters. The dice themselves can be unique and different sizes, shapes and colors to represent different things.

Hand management games are games with cards in them that reward players for playing the cards in certain sequences or groups. The optimal sequence/grouping may vary, depending on board position, cards held and cards played by opponents. Managing your hand means gaining the most value out of available cards under given circumstances. Cards often have multiple uses in the game, further obfuscating an "optimal" sequence.

Game itself is quite hard, a challenge if you want. But with the expansion it takes to another level. It's sad when you realize the base game was thought from the beginning to have an expansion because all the masterminds that are left out, basically all the iconic Batman's rogue gallery.

One of my favorite games of all time! If you like Co-op and batman, this is a must! Every game feels TIGHT, Very few play throughs are won with ease. There's plenty of variability in each play through to not get bored with (especially if you own the Masterminds and Mayhem expansion: which i can not recommend enough!) The only negative i have at all about the game is the rule book is so poorly written. and there are errors on the cards. I still give it a perfect 10 because of gameplay, but be prepared for some headaches when going through the rule book.

My wife and I both really enjoy this game. Don't be shy about establishing some house rules or tweaks if you find the game too easy as you get the hang of it; the creators have even been active in these forums with suggestions on how to do so. If you're looking to spice up the game pieces (without spending your time/energy on painting them), I would recommend looking into Nano Metalfigs. You can get colorful, sturdy, great looking pieces for the 5 playable characters for a couple bucks each. We picked up multiple versions for some characters so we can use different ones based on how we're feeling that day.
