Dice rolling in a game can be used for many things, randomness being the most obvious. Dice can also be used as counters. The dice themselves can be unique and different sizes, shapes and colors to represent different things.

My wife bought this game on a whim because it was on clearance for 50% off. At first, the back of the box looked like it was some sort of dexterity type of game which intrigued me. It turned out to be a game that felt similar to Sagrada and Carcassonne where you draft dice and place them along with meeples to vie for control over tower spaces to score point majorities. It's a fun, light, and quick game that I think would be best at 3-4 as it encourages more competition for meeple placements.

41B Only played this at two players so far, with and without expansions. It feels like it needs 3 or more players. With just 2 players the choices feel fairly limited and scoring mostly just goes back and forth. Adding some of the expansions helped a bit but I think this would be far more interesting at 4 players where not everyone is going to get to score every tower. Edit after more plays: I really, really wanted to like this game, but in its current state its just missing something(s). In the base game, it is too easy to draw dice that match nothing and be forced to put them in the middle. Next round you can use your spell book to fill the outer towers then you're back to no matching dice in the following round. Half the rounds we couldn't place dice on the outer towers. Luck of the draw I guess, but it made for a poor experience. The witches tower expansion at least helps with this by giving you more dice choices. I'd pretty much consider it essential to play this. It's also a shame all the base game towers are all exactly the same (placement spot rewards). I was not expecting that when I received this. At least the kickstarter promos / expansions add a few different ones. A future expansion adding a greater variation here would be nice. The game also feels too short. I want to build large towers but by the end of the game most are only a couple floors.

Nice quick filler to end the evening with, but nothing spectacular going on in this one. Easy to teach to new gamers.
