Dice rolling in a game can be used for many things, randomness being the most obvious. Dice can also be used as counters. The dice themselves can be unique and different sizes, shapes and colors to represent different things.

I really didn't liked the Tcho-Tcho faction. They are crazy fast to gain power through the free High Priest, and these can be used not only to gain extra power, but also to bring many, many, many elder signs. Too boost, Ubbo-Sathla can be summoned by the crazy low cost of sacrificing a High Priest (basically spending 3 power). If its balanced? Likely. But it does has the ability of speeding the play to a point that slow-building factions are in big disadvantage, making the Tcho-Tcho less than ideal for every set up, needing some especific counters to be dealt with, or players concentrating efforts against them, which is also less than ideal, as it puts players in forced pre-determined paths. Overall, as I said, I simply didn't liked them.

Garbage faction. Not sure what Sandy was thinking here, but any faction in a game like CW that wins by sitting on their rears and not interacting is terrible design.

The funniest faction in the game, silly and deadly is the most accurate description. They are little parasites abusing a growing Great Old One, focused on High Priest and running away from battles... hilariously hideous. Buy them.
