Card drafting games are games in which players pick cards from a limited subset, such as a common pool, to gain some advantage (immediate or longterm) or to assemble hands of cards that are used to meet objectives within the game.
Card Drafting
Hand management games are games with cards in them that reward players for playing the cards in certain sequences or groups. The optimal sequence/grouping may vary, depending on board position, cards held and cards played by opponents. Managing your hand means gaining the most value out of available cards under given circumstances. Cards often have multiple uses in the game, further obfuscating an "optimal" sequence.

A solid deck-builder, whose victory condition supports the post-apocalyptic theme. Lots of variability with the expansions, consistent artwork, and relatively straight-forward iconography. Of course, that said, it's kind of funny to have to remind people time & again, that you need people to wield tools. Grenades can't use shovels. People use shovels! There are no dice in this one, but make no mistake, there's still an element of luck that you need to succeed.

Only played it once so far, however it went very well and I really enjoyed it. The strategy isn't too hard to pick up, but there's a lot to it. As a big fan of Dominion, the similar mechanisms are appealing to me, but the theme and differences are great. I imagine the base game will get played out quickly, but the addition of the HQ and Recon expansions in the box allow for a lot of replayability.

Really loved this with two players except I didn't like the expansions with the buildings. I felt they took too much time to build up to provide a reward. Liked it a bit less with 4 players.
