Hand management games are games with cards in them that reward players for playing the cards in certain sequences or groups. The optimal sequence/grouping may vary, depending on board position, cards held and cards played by opponents. Managing your hand means gaining the most value out of available cards under given circumstances. Cards often have multiple uses in the game, further obfuscating an "optimal" sequence.
Hand Management

I have little to say about the adventures presented, but want people to know that this is, IMO, the second best set of player cards in the game. The One Ring and it’s related synergies provide the players with tools that are well balanced and thematic. I’ve been playing this game since it came out and it’s had its ups and downs. The cycle that follows this expansion is delightful in that it makes for an impressive improvement in player cards. It seems to allow the player leeway as it goes rummaging around middle earth with Bilbo and The One. You would think that was always the case, but no. It wasn’t. This expansion made that possible.
