Star Wars: Destiny – Two-Player Game
30m
2 - 2 Players

Dice rolling in a game can be used for many things, randomness being the most obvious. Dice can also be used as counters. The dice themselves can be unique and different sizes, shapes and colors to represent different things.

Hand management games are games with cards in them that reward players for playing the cards in certain sequences or groups. The optimal sequence/grouping may vary, depending on board position, cards held and cards played by opponents. Managing your hand means gaining the most value out of available cards under given circumstances. Cards often have multiple uses in the game, further obfuscating an "optimal" sequence.

I own two copies of the Star Wars: Destiny - Two-Player Game set. Purchased two copies so I would have enough cards and dice to play up to the full limit allowed by the rules.

As I prefer to stay casual in the SW Destiny, I only rate this set as a complete 2 player game without any additional content. Played it a couplde of times with my girlfriend and we founs it to be quite interesting. We realy enjoy that turns fly by VERY fast. Verdict - probably will hold on to it, since I'm planning on participating in Draft tournaments for the game.

Star Wars: Destiny has few simple rules, and can be picked up pretty easily by anyone familiar with FFG's living card games (but even by casual players), and has a very fast and furious gameplay. There is a constant back and forth between players, exchanging blows and tricks in a frantic way... The game has a surprising number of decision points, though: which cards to discard to re-roll dice, when to drop off the turn to claim a Battlefield, the timing and target of attacks. The Two-Player Game is a good entry point into the system.
